The Justice Department today entered into a settlement agreement that resolves allegations, under Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), that San Luis Obispo County (SLO) Jail facilities were inaccessible to inmates with mobility disabilities and denied them equal access to the Jail’s programs, services and activities.  The agreement requires SLO to make architectural and policy modifications to ensure equal access to its programs and facilities for inmates with mobility disabilities and to pay $175,000 in compensatory damages to the complainant for his injuries.
