Sandi Miles has 25 years of experience in the architecture, engineering, and construction industry, specializing in site accessibility projects over the last 14 years. Ms. Miles is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp #346) in the state of California and is certified by the International Code Council as an Accessibility Plans Examiner and Inspector. Offering a full range of accessibility compliance including; accessibility site inspections, CASp reports, accessibility plan review, training presentations, training classes, Title II, Title III, and Fair Housing Act review. In addition, Ms. Miles has performed grading design, construction management and inspection of projects as well as developed a variety of project-specific documents for civil engineering projects.
Ms. Miles is a recognized expert and is a regular presenter for the American Institute of Architects San Diego and Orange County Chapters and has conducted several seminars on accessibility and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) including the 2010 and 2013 California Building Code and the Fair Housing Act. She leads lunch-and-learns with local municipalities, school districts, and architectural businesses.
Qualifications for Office
Accessibility is a topic of deep personal concern to Ms. Miles. Her compassion is personal and she is dedicated to ongoing continuing education to see the entire scope of accessibility issues instead of focusing on one aspect.
In the early years Ms. Miles worked her way up from administrative roles in business to design and management. This provided a day to day understanding of administrative skills which allow her to fulfill the role as Secretary.
In 2009 Ms. Miles was on the LEED for Green School Committee - San Diego Chapter. She also helped coordinate the LEED committee within RBF Consulting and managed their newsletter coordinating articles and outside contributors.

Ms. Miles personal goals if elected are to become more involved with the Institute and help others become aware of the benefits it offers.
