CASI Discussion Group

The purpose of the Bimonthly Discussion Group is to connect CASI members to discuss various aspects of the California Building Code and federal accessibility standards.

Topic: Code Cycle Changes: Restrooms & Bathing
Date: Friday, August 27, 2021
Time: 1pm - 2pm PT

COST: FREE to CASI Members
WEBINAR: via ZOOM

Please join us on our next code discussion group on August 27. In this session, we will discuss recent CBC changes to definitions, scoping, and technical requirements in chapters 2 and 11B that are applicable to restrooms & bathing facilities. And we'll compare these sections with the 2010 ADAS.

The webinar information will be provided in the confirmation email after you register.

For the upcoming CASI discussion group, we'll be doing just that - discussing the code! This will NOT be a lecture so come prepared with your code book and the Intervening Code Supplement, your thinking cap, and a willingness to engage.

FORMAT:
You will be divided into a breakout group randomly. Each breakout group will have 25 minutes to discuss a scenario, guided by a CASI facilitator. Then, we will reconvene as a whole and a representative from each breakout group will have up to 5 minutes to present the scenario, any discussions/debates, and the group interpretation.

One (1) continuing education credit is offered for a maximum of one-hour live attendance for DSA CASp certification or CAB credits, to be self-reported.

The Discussion Groups are available FREE to CASI members only. Registration is required.

Webinar information to join the discussion group will be sent out the day prior to the scheduled session date.

The discussion groups will be recorded and archived in the member dashboard for those who cannot attend the live session.
