DSA has announced new members of the ACC, with several of those new members being CASps. Susan R. Moe has been selected to represent CASps, Timothy P. McCormick and Mehdi Shadyab to represent code enforcers, and Anne Riggs has been selected to represent design professionals.

If you are interested in listening in on upcoming meetings, reviewing meeting transcripts or the ACC charter, all of that and more can be found on the ACC’s website. Watch this space for updates from Susan in her capacity as a CASp on the ACC moving forward.

CCDA (California Commission on Disability Access) recently held a Listening Forum in San Jose to foster dialogue and collaboration to increase access to local businesses to people with disabilities. The listening forum included local businesses, government, and individuals with disabilities. CASI will keep you posted as more of these forums are scheduled in the future. Upcoming Events

• The October CASp exam is coming up on October 11th. The project type for the open-book portion of the exam will be “Spinal Care Center for Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care”. The exam will cover new and amended regulations included in the 2019 Intervening Code Supplement. Reference materials and registration information can be found on the CASp Account Login and the Apply and Maintain CASp Certification sites.
  
  
• Look for the DSA Code Discussion Groups to resume soon. CASI will keep you up to date for the return we’ve all been anticipating, and DSA will do the same.
  
  
• DSA is planning to have a public workshop to hear proposals for code change for the 2025 CBC – stay tuned for more info to come on that as well.
  
  
• Taking the place of the upcoming Code Discussion Group will be a Webinar from CASI and DSA on CBC 11B-250 -Circulation Paths. This event will feature Michelle Davis of The Division of The State Architect for a presentation on the requirements for separating circulation paths from vehicular traffic can be puzzling when applied to the countless design alternatives on a project-by-project basis. This webinar is FREE to everyone in the Accessibility Community (registration is required).
  
  
• The U.S. Access Board’s next webinar is September 7th on Accessible Residential Housing. Register for that and check out other trainings available, including archived webinars, HERE.
