PRESENTATION OVERVIEW: 

As a certified access specialist, are you aware of opportunities for your expertise outside of providing a CRASCA report? Attorneys, architects, facilities managers, real estate professionals, and many others need information and advice on the accessibility issues for the sites and buildings that they are working on.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • What are the different types of information and reports required by these individuals?
  • How do these reports differ from that of a CRASCA report?
  • What services should a CASp not provide?

SPEAKERS: Jason Vaughan and Lewis Springer


Jason Vaughan is a U.S. Army combat veteran. He is a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) and a Certified ADA Coordinator (ADAC) who has performed more than 300 accessibility evaluations of both public accommodations and government facilities over the last five years. He has conducted accessibility evaluations for small businesses, apartment complexes, property management firms, national retail corporations, and emergency evacuation shelters throughout New York City. He has also performed disabled access evaluations as part of due diligence evaluations for property acquisitions.

I attended CASI seminars and training long before being able to join CASI. I joined CASI as one of it first associate members and continued benefited from the seminars and trainings. I’m prepared to become a more active member in order to help CASI continue to provide high quality educational seminars and training for out member, access professionals and the public.

Lewis Springer has been practicing architecture for over 30 years. He has had several focuses over those years from residential, commercial, and transportation architecture.
Mr. Springer currently is the owner of LRS…Architecture which focuses on public
accommodation properties and their compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act standards andthe California building codes. As a Certified Access Specialist Mr. Springer works to inspect public accommodation properties to identify architectural barriers and then uses his architectural knowledge to design solutions for architectural barrier removal.
