Biography:

Kristi Avalos has over 40+ years of experience at the vanguard of accessibility compliance-related issues.  Kristi founded Accessology in 1990 and has worked on numerous multi-million-dollar projects providing accessibility compliance.  She has provided extensive training for local, national and international municipalities, counties, universities, architects, building owners, property managers, contractors, and real estate brokers on local, state and federal accessibility standards.  She has worked with several metropolitan planning organizations (MPOs) hosting ADA Transition Plan roundtables across the country.  Kristi has helped numerous municipalities and Title II entities to become compliant with applicable federal and state accessibility standards.  She is also the principle consultant for accessibility assessments and ADA Transition Plan development.  Kristi works with federal agencies and organizations that influence and shape accessibility legislation and trends and provides expert witnessing on ADA, 504, FHA, and ACAA legal cases.  She is licensed through the State of Texas to perform final architecture plan reviews on behalf of the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.  She is also licensed as a California Accessibility Specialist through the State of California.
